Crappie Fishing Trips

4-Hour Trip / 1-3 passengers:

8-Hour Trip / 1-3 passengers:

10% discount for all retired veterans on each trip

(with valid proof of retirement)

Fish cleaning time is not subtracted from fishing hours.

We will clean your catch at the end of the trip as part of our service at no additional cost. We will also bag your cleaned fish filets in quart bags. Client to bring own ice and cooler to transport filets to your destination. There is no hidden cost with keeping It Crappie guide service. The most important is that fish cleaning time is not subtracted from your time on the water. When you book a trip with the Keeping It Crappie guide service you will be on the water the number of hours you book or until the legal limit of fish has been attained.

What to expect on your trip:

As a “service business”, Keeping It Crappie does its very best to provide a “full service” fishing trip experience.


Everything is readied “before” your trip to maximize your fishing time and “during” your trip we provide comprehensive service to make sure you have a comfortable, safe, and successful outing.



During your trip you can expect to have your poles baited, baits changed, fish netted, any tangles fixed, any snags and hang up’s taken care of, and full assistance and coaching to help you put a bait in front of the fish you’re pursuing. At the conclusion of your trip, we will also photograph your catch and clean your fish as part of our service.

We love to teach the skills necessary to help you become a more successful angler and/or a safer boat operator. Whether you’re a novice or experienced angler or boater you’ll learn a lot before, during, and after your trip. If learning new fishing skills, gaining increased knowledge of the items outlined below, or learning how to catch more or better fish is on your agenda, we’re here to serve you. With more than 3 decades of fishing experience that includes competitive tournament fishing, we know how to help you become a better angler. We gladly teach, coach, and share knowledge with you to enhance your fishing and boating skills. We’re confident you will be a more knowledgeable, and successful angler after our time together.

EQUIPMENT

Types of fishing equipment appropriate for each technique used, proper rod and reel selection for targeted technique, proper line selection for each fish technique, proper selection and use of fishing electronics, (Down, Forward, Side Imaging).

INSTALLATION

Where and how to install electronics on the boat, optimal trolling motor features and capabilities including use of tracks, way marks, spot lock, auto-pilot, remote control vs. Foot pedal use and which is optimal for each application.

MIGRATION

Seasonal fish migration patterns and how to use and interpret Navionics Software to identify productive fish structure and habitat and how to quickly verify or rule out their presence.

PREPPING

How to properly and efficiently clean and store fish for consumption.

TECHNIQUE

How to set up and perform multiple fishing techniques such as spider rigging, short and long line trolling, planer boards, and live scope techniques.

Which colors and types of lures you should have in your tackle box for different conditions, when and how to use specific lure types at different times of the year and water temperatures.

How to properly tie different types of knots and which types of knots to utilize for different fishing techniques.

BOAT GEAR

Types of boat gear needed for successful fishing (T-Bars, rod holders, nets, measuring devices, weigh scales, types of flotation devices, lights, tool box essentials, jump boxes, batteries, electronics, trolling motor features and brands, live/forward imaging transducer poles, etc.)

Do I need to bring my own fishing tackle?

Keeping It Crappie Guide Service are “TURN KEY” in that we provide all tackle necessary to be successful on your trip. Some passengers want to bring their own fishing tackle on this trip, and it is allowed. Just be sure to discuss with us ahead of time to determine if your rod/reel/tackle will be appropriate for the technique we will be using during the trip.

Where should we meet for our trip?

The ramp location or designated meeting point will be determined by the location of the lake to be fished on your booked trip. Keeping It Crappie will coordinate this with each passenger prior to the trip. If passengers are late to the meeting location this time will be included in the number of hours booked for the trip. Please arrive at least 15 minutes early at the designated pick-up location.

What to bring on my trip?

MOST Anglers will need a Arkansas Fishing License. These required licenses can be obtained online at the Arkansas Game & Fish website or other local retailers such as Wal-Mart or other local sporting goods stores. Please review the fishing regulations regarding licenses before arriving for your trip. Keeping It Crappie is not liable for any infractions or associated tickets or fines incurred due to passenger not obtaining proper fishing license.

Recommendation

We recommend you bring sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, and any other protective clothing you may need during your trip. Check the weather before your trip to see if rain gear may be needed during your trip. Passengers on all trips are responsible for their own drinks, lunches or snacks you may desire on your trip.

When you fish with Keeping It Crappie Guide Service you’ll be transported in well maintained boat with state-of-the-art equipment. Our boat is clean, comfortable, and performs as expected. It is a 21’ Skeeter, fiberglass bass boat fully equipped and ready to take you to the fish.
